Install and activate the WS Image Generator for Ideogram AI plugin.

Generate images from the WordPress post editor; images are processed by the service and saved to your Media Library.

When the monthly limit is reached, the plugin shows a “limit reached” message — no features are disabled and WordPress remains fully functional.

Do I need an API key to use the plugin?

Not necessarily.
On the first image generation, the plugin automatically creates a free API key for your site via our service.
You can keep using the free tier or add your own key / upgrade later to increase monthly limits and access newer models.

How many images can I generate for free?

The free tier allows up to 4 generated images per month per site.
Higher quotas and newer models are available through optional paid plans.

What happens when I reach the monthly limit?

Nothing breaks.
When the limit is reached, the plugin simply displays the service response (for example, “limit reached”).
No features are locked and WordPress functionality is never restricted.

Does it work with custom post types?

Yes.
The generator metabox appears on all public post types, including custom ones.

Does it work with Gutenberg and the Classic Editor?

Yes.
The plugin works with both the Block Editor (Gutenberg) and the Classic Editor using a metabox interface.

Can it generate images for social networks automatically?

Yes.
The plugin can automatically generate Facebook and Instagram images with configurable overlays (logo, post title, domain).
All images are saved to the Media Library.

Does it integrate with Yoast SEO?

Yes.
If Yoast SEO is active and the integration is enabled, the plugin automatically assigns the generated image as the Open Graph and Twitter image for that post.

Where are the generated images stored?

All generated images are downloaded and saved in your WordPress Media Library and automatically set as the Featured Image when enabled.

What data is sent to external services?

The plugin sends only what is required to generate images:

your text prompt
selected generation parameters (model, style, size)
your site domain (used for license validation)

Data is transmitted securely over HTTPS via wpideogramai.com, which forwards the request to Ideogram and returns the generated image.
